REGIONAL ATTRACTIONS

Red Cliffs is located at the northern end of Victoria’s Mallee region on the Calder Highway. Our park offers a perfect location to use as a base on your travels and discovery of this rich region.

Big Lizzie

Australian History at it’s finest. This massive traction engine is the largest ever built in Australia. So large and so slow that it took over two years (1917-1919) to make the journey from Melbourne to the Red Cliffs area.

Cappa Stone Wines

Cappa Stone operates an intimate Cellar Door on the winery property. Here you can meet and talk to winemaker Donna Stephens as well as sampling the full range of wines under the Cappa Stone label.

Red Cliffs Lookout

From this lookout there are amazing views over the Murray River and surrounding landscapes including the 70-metre cliffs which are the source of the town’s name. These cliffs take on a rich red colour and make strong reflections in the still waters of the Murray River.

Red Cliffs Historical Steam Railway

Ride on the a 1.5 km narrow gauge railway re-built on part of the former Victorian Railways branch line from Red Cliffs to Morkalla.   The principle attraction is the Kerr Stuart steam locomotive “Lukee”  built in 1901.
